'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon has compared his training regimen to the legendary ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and says he doesn't even come close.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the 25-year-old Thai fighter explained:
"Nong-O is a legendary fighter in Muay Thai. I admire his consistent discipline. Even though he is getting older, he never compromises his hard work and discipline. And he can keep a good balance between training and living his life."
Rodtang is one of the hardest workers in combat sports. He jogs nearly 70 kilometers every week, along with several hours of daily pad work and sparring. 'The Iron Man' showed off his training schedule in a YouTube Vlog with Superbon Singha Mawynn. Even with all that hard work, Rodtang Jitmuangnon admits:

"Compared to [Nong-O], I feel very lazy sometimes. He is the best example for the young fighters."
Nong-O Gaiyanghadao has hundreds of career wins and is the current holder of the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai throne. He has defended his world title a whopping six times.
Meanwhile, 'The Iron Man' has over 260 career victories and is the reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion. At ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18 (US primetime), he will face the strawweight Muay Thai king Joseph Lasiri. Their battle can be enjoyed live and is free for all Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Rodtang looking for the knockout
'The Iron Man' will face a fellow Muay Thai world champion when he meets the Moroccan-Italian Lasiri. Rodtang believes that he will win this fight by way of knockout. In an interview with ONE, he said:
"I expect to knock him out in round three. I want to knock him out with a high kick. But it would be tricky because he is too tall to reach. So, I think I'd knock him out with my killer punch and elbow instead."
Even when facing a fellow world champion, the 25-year-old phenom explained that it makes little difference as he always looks to push himself to the maximum in every fight:
“Actually, it is no different because I always commit to giving my all in every fight. And I will do everything in my capacity as the world champion to defend my belt in this upcoming fight.”
