The Ruben Villa vs. Sulaiman Segawa round-by-round updates are here to walk boxing fans through tonight's new co-main event. Villa and Segawa meet in a featherweight bout over 10 rounds, with each one being three minutes long. The matchup is one of two different tales.

Villa is currently at the helm of a four-fight win streak, and the 27-year old American is determined to add the slightly less seasoned Segawa to his record of 22-1. Meanwhile, Segawa is coming off a unanimous decision loss to undefeated prospect Mirco Cuello.

The defeat took place on the undercard of the Tim Tszyu vs. Sebastian Fundora event. He will look to rectify things by bouncing back with a win to improve his 16-4-1 record. The bout is of heightened significance now, serving as the feature fight of the card after Raymond Muratalla vs. Tevin Farmer was upgraded to the headliner.

No world championship is on the line, but egos and legacies are. The oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook have identified Villa as a -1600 favorite, while Segawa is listed as a +900 underdog. The event starts at 6:50 PM E.T. (Eastern Time) / 3:30 PM P.T. (Pacific Time).

Ruben Villa vs. Sulaiman Segawa

Round 1: Segawa appears to be the more aggressive fighter as the round starts. Villa isn't intent on throwing much, drawing out his opponent's punches to assess his speed and power. Segawa throwing significantly more, with his left hand landing with the most consistence.

Villa just isn't doing enough to establish himself and is down on activity. He needs to increase his output. Sportskeeda scores the round 10-9 for Segawa.

Round 2: The second round begins with a similar situation. Segawa is more aggressive, not giving Villa any breathing room as he keeps landing his left hand with authority. He lands the more consequential blows as Villa seems frozen.

However, as the round comes to a close, Villa starts firing back, but it's too little too late, as Villa has yet to seize control of the pace. Sportskeeda scores the round 10-9 for Segawa.

Round 3: Segawa imposes himself by backing Villa up. Villa is struggling to find his rhythm, but he is firing back more than before. Segawa's length seems to be troubling Villa, who is eating more shots than he usually does. Nevertheless, Villa invests in the body.

There isn't much to separate the two besides Segawa's activity. However, Villa is growing more aggressive as the fight continues, as he slowly find his range. This is a difficult round to score, but it is likely a 10-9 for Segawa. Villa needs to get busier.

Round 4: A more measured start to the round as both men engage at range. Segawa throws a hard one-two, but his left hook lands on Villa's gloves. Segawa steps back right out of Villa's reach, whose jab falls short. Segawa lands a hard left hand. Segawa's activity isn't slowing down yet.

But Villa isn't a sitting duck, landing a hard uppercut as the two men pivot along the ropes. Villa lands another uppercut as Segawa leans forward. Villa is seizing control as Segawa is tiring. The body shots Villa landed in the previous rounds have caused Segawa to lower his arms. 10-9 for Villa.

Round 5: Segawa tries to set the pace as the round starts, outworking Villa, landing a nice left hook. But Villa seems to have gotten Segawa's timing down and evades the latter's follow-up punches. Villa keeps landing to the body with hooks and uppercuts. A nice jab lands for VIlla. More uppercuts to the body for Villa.

Villa seems to be leading with activity now, or at least in punches landed. Segawa lands a quick left hand, though, but his activity has lessened. Segawa lands a few big shots, and lands a quick uppercut as they circle. Segawa landing more and more, finding a home for his uppercut. Villa is still struggling with his opponent's speed and length. 10-9 for Segawa.

Round 6: Segawa pawing with the jab, draws out a lunge from Villa, which he tries to counter with a left hand but falls just an inch short. Both men are trading jabs in the center of the ring, before Segawa backs Villa up. Villa lands a few jabs as Segawa tries to close the distance.

Segawa with a nice one-two. A brief timeout ensues due to some loose tape on Villa's glove. The fight resumes with a Segawa jab splitting Villa's high-guard. A body jab lands for Segawa. Villa can't find any openings and isn't committing to his left straight despite Segawa's rear-hand being low. It's a close round, but probably a 10-9 for Villa.

Round 7: Segawa triples his jab, both men start the round more aggressively, throwing and missing. An uppercut lands for Segawa, before one lands for Villa. Another uppercut for Villa, who finds openings to the body. Segawa not liking the body shots, as he starts tucking his elbows close to his midsection.

Villa is backed up to the ropes but quickly circles back into open space, where both men continue trading. Villa is upping his offense, landing to the body and head. Segawa lands a right hand, but Villa is leading with activity. However, the difference in power is clear, with Segawa's blows causing increasing damage to Villa's left eye. Likely a 10-9 for Villa.

Round 8: Villa eats a few jabs, but lands his own. Segawa with a body jab and a nice combination that catches Villa clean with a left hook. Villa eats it though. Segawa is upping his activity again. They're trading, with Villa predominantly on the backfoot.

Jabs land for Villa, but Segawa lands a hard combination that seems to have hurt Villa, who is forced to clinch. Segawa pounces with uppercuts and combinations, but now Villa lands his own combination. Villa seems to have hurt Segawa with a body shot. Very close round, possibly 10-9 for Segawa.

Round 9: Segawa on the front foot, as he has been throughout the entire fight. A more measured pace for both men after a chaotic end to the previous round. Segawa has slowed down and eats a jab from Villa, who is still looking for that uppercut. Segawa regains his confidence though and throws more.

Villa lands double uppercuts on the inside. Segawa with a long left hook that snaps Villa's head back. Villa throwing but missing. An uppercut and right hand lands for Segawa. 10-9 for Segawa.

Round 10: The round barely starts before the referee pauses the action, as there's more loose tape on Villa's glove that needs cutting. The fight resumes with Segawa landing a hard right hand. Villa just doesn't have an answer for Segawa's range and speed.

Segawa lands with a lead left hook. Neither man is showing any urgency though. A good rear uppercut lands for Segawa. Some jabs land for Villa, Segawa ties him up in the clinch, but the referee breaks it. Both men throwing more, but no one truly imposed themselves. 10-9 for Segawa.

Official Decision: Sulaiman Segawa def. Ruben Villa via unanimous decision (98-92, 97-93, 96-94)
