Ryan Garcia claimed he's going to coach his brother in boxing moving forward.
On Saturday night, July 6, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal competed in an action-packed boxing match inside Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Earlier in the night, various fighters looked to capitalize on the platform, including Sean Garcia (Ryan's brother), Shane Mosley Jr, Curmel Moton, and more.
Heading into the Diaz vs Masvidal event, Garcia held a professional boxing record of 7-0-1. The 23-year-old's latest test was against fellow prospect Amado Vargas, who is the same age and held an undefeated record (10-0).

Vargas proved to be the better fighter that night, leading to a sixth-round standing TKO. Following his brother's first loss, Ryan Garcia took to social media and posted a video saying this with Sean by his side:

"Sean may have taken an L, but here's the great news about that - I wasn't in his corner. The Vargas brothers, they are 1-0 on us, it's okay. We're gonna call for the rematch, and I'm the head trainer. Amado, what's good?"
Garcia later re-posted his comments on Twitter and added the following caption:

Ryan Garcia was in attendance for the Nate Diaz vs Jorge Masvidal boxing event on Saturday night. Shortly after Sean Garcia lost, a video went viral on social media of 'King Ryan' allegedly being escorted out of Honda Center for getting into an altercation with fans.
Garcia later refuted the headlines by saying this on Twitter:
"I wasn't escorted I left Not one hater in real life And everyone was cool Bc Like I said everyone knows my heart"
Ryan Garcia last fought on April 20 when he defeated Devin Haney by majority decision. The result was later overturned to a no-contest after Garcia failed a drug test for Ostarine. The 25-year-old also received a one-year suspension by the New York State Athletic Commission, postponing his highly-anticipated return.
