Newly-retired boxing superstar Ryan Garcia gave his thoughts on something his previous opponent, Devin Haney, said on X. Haney replied to a tweet of a fan which was in turn a reply to a video interview of boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who promoted the Ryan Garcia-Devin Haney fight.

In the interview, Hearn explained why his promotion and media platform, Matchroom and DAZN, didn't bid for a fight between Devin Haney and Spain's Sandor Martin, saying:

"Firstly, we have absolutely no obligation to bid. He [Haney] is a free agent. You know, a lot of these fighters like to champion the fact that they're free agents and they all have their own 'promotional company'. DHP [Devin Haney Promotions] didn't bid. They didn't bid because they didn't want to take a financial risk on the fight."

Hearn said the Haney-Martin fight is "not gonna be the greatest in the world to watch."

Here's the video interview posted by Boxing News+ on X:

A fan who goes by Bay_J, replied to this video:

"What’s funny about this, is that Haney involved Hearn in the Ryan event when there was no contractual obligation to. Really thought he was their pal."

Haney replied to Bay_J with:

"What can I say.. I’m a nice guy 🤷🏽‍♂️"

Ryan Garcia replied to Haney's tweet. While we're not quite sure if it's a direct reply to his former foe's assessment of himself or a criticism of what Hearn said, nonetheless, he said:

"If you really think about this it’s kinda F’d up"

Amid PED accusations, legal battles, and a family crisis, Ryan Garcia retires from boxing

After the crazy few months of Ryan Garcia's life, the 25-year-old former WBC interim world champion chose to hang up his gloves for good.

The months leading up to his bout with Devin Haney in April could be best described as "bizarre," with Ryan posting an over-the-top series of social media posts. After winning the bout via a majority decision - where he came in overweight - Ryan was popped for use of PEDs.

Meanwhile, Ryan's former associate and friend, Logan Paul, sued him for defamation. The case is still ongoing. Just recently, 'King Ryan' was reported to have allegedly been arrested for a felony vandalism charge in Beverly Hills.

On top of this, he also revealed that his mother has cancer. Ryan summarized all the drama of his life in this tweet:

"Mom has cancer. I’m being sued. My supplements were tainted, Going through a divorce. Always GETTING SH*T TALKED on the internet FOR YEARS. Devin asking for my victory to be taken away. I’m getting hit with everything. I STILL LOVE GOD; HE IS EVERYTHING."

He then announced his official retirement shortly after:

"I’m officially retired"
