Ryan Garcia last entered the boxing ring two months ago when he faced Devin Haney. While he was ineligible to win the WBC super lightweight title after missing weight by 3.2 pounds, 'King Ry' initially appeared to win the bout via majority decision.

After weeks of legal back-and-forth, the bout was officially declared a no-contest as Garcia tested positive for Ostarine the day before and the day of the bout. In addition to having the win stripped from his record, the former WBC interim lightweight champion was suspended for a year. He reacted to the news by announcing his interest in leaving boxing for the UFC.

Garcia took to Instagram, stating:

"Hey look at this cry baby get what he wants I never cheated They banned me for a year, I HATE ALL YALL FAKE AHHH PEOPLE Boxing sucks I’m goin to the ufc"

Garcia also took to X to once again claim that he is innocent of taking any performance-enhancing drugs, stating:

"I really hope boxing good without me I fought everyone and was willing to They have turned there back on me I’m innocent I stand by that I don’t care what everyone says Gun yo my head I say I didn’t take PED’s"

Garcia previously hinted at retiring from boxing the day before news of his suspension. He continues to declare that he is innocent and the sport is corrupt. It is unclear if he will walk away from boxing and join the UFC as fighters generally make the opposite move in search of a bigger payday.

What are the full terms of Ryan Garcia's settlement with the NYSAC?

While Ryan Garcia's victory over Devin Haney being ruled a no-contest will receive most of the attention, that was not the only punishment handed down. 'KingRy' reached an agreement with the New York State Athletic Commission, according to Dan Rafael, who tweeted:

"BREAKING: Ryan Garcia/legal team have made settlement agreement with NYSAC. He has agreed to the following: suspension of at least 1 year; forfeiture of his $1.1M official contract purse (goes to GB, Haney may get %), $10k fine (state max); fight officially a no contest. #boxing"

Rafael later added that Garcia must undergo random drug testing while serving his suspension. While he has declared his innocence on social media, it appears that 'King Ry' had a different tune when dealing with the NYSAC as he seemingly agreed to the punishment.
