‘Super’ Sage Northcutt is excited about the opportunity to get back to work next month.
On May 5, the Katy, Texas native will return to the Circle for the first time in almost four years as part of ONE Championship’s stacked ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video lineup. The event will serve as the promotion’s long-awaited debut in the United States and will feature a plethora of American-born talent, including Northcutt.
Before he heads to the 1stBank Center in Colorado, Northcutt sat down with the promotion to discuss his lengthy absence and what the future holds for the photogenic fan-favorite.
“I just had some time [to] take care of some personal things,” Northcutt said. “It’s going to be exciting getting back in there. I’ll only be 26 years old, having 14 professional MMA fights, so I’m super excited. I feel like I’m just getting started and I’m still so young that I can have a lot of fights.”

Sage Northcutt had hoped to return in 2021 and 2022, but an especially difficult bout with COVID-19 kept ‘Super’ on the sidelines for much longer than expected. He also got married during his time. With a blushing bride and a clean bill of health, Northcutt is ready to get his career back on track inside the Circle.
Standing in Northcutt’s way of a triumphant return will be Pakistani mixed martial arts champion Ahmed Mujtaba.
Ahmed Mujtaba sends warning to Sage Northcutt ahead of their ONE Fight Night 10 clash
It’s been a long road for Sage Northcutt just to be able to make the walk to the Circle on May 5. It’ll be even harder to leave Colorado with a victory as ‘Super’ will be tasked with putting down the ‘Wolverine’ Ahmed Mujtaba.
Mujtaba will enter the bout with an impressive 11-2 record with four of those victories coming under the ONE Championship banner. He’s coming off back-to-back finishes, scoring a first-round knockout against Rahul Raju in 2021. He followed that up with another first-round finish, this time via submission over Abraao Amorim. Riding the wave of a two-fight win streak, Mujtaba is determined to make it three-in-a-row at ONE Fight Night 10.
“He’s going to be afraid as well,” Mujtaba said in an interview with ONE Championship. “I’m not an easy guy to fight against because I need the win as well, because I’m hungry for the win, too.”
