At ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, Sage Northcutt will make his long-anticipated return to the circle.
After his ONE Championship debut ended in 30 seconds, ‘Super’ Sage has been forced to take time away from the sport to recover from the injuries he suffered in the sudden loss.
After taking time to get surgery and heal back up to full strength, a bout with COVID-19 delayed his comeback even further, keeping him out of action for a total of four years.
That all changes on May 5 in Colorado, where Northcutt steps back inside the circle to face Ahmed Mujtaba and finally prove what he is capable of to ONE Championship fans all over the world.

Northcutt is adamant that the four-year gap in his career will not be a significant factor in his growth as a martial artist. Whilst he hasn’t been competing, Northcutt has managed to keep training and bettering himself for his inevitable return.
In a recent interview with The MMA Superfan on YouTube, ‘Super’ Sage spoke about how fast the sport of MMA can evolve before he attempts to catch right back up on May 5 at 1stBank Center:
“Well, I feel like the game is always evolving. Basically right now, when you look back 10 years ago, where MMA fighting was, the level of technique, the level of skill set was much different. And even when MMA fighting first started, you have like a striker versus a jiu-jitsu guy for instance. Now, everybody’s so talented. Everyone has so many different techniques so that’s always fun, good to show fans a little bit here.”

Ahmed Mujtaba warns Sage Northcutt: “I’m not an easy guy to fight”
At ONE Fight Night 10, Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba has the pleasure of welcoming ‘Super’ Sage Northcutt back to the circle after four years away.
With Northcutt breaking his run of inactivity in front of a sold out crowd at ONE Championship’s first ever event hosted in the United States, Mujtaba is sure to be presented as the villain but he’s more than happy to spoil the party.
Whilst Sage has been away from the spotlight for a long time, Mujtaba has been trying to build his own momentum in ONE Championship.
Coming into May 5 off the back of back-to-back first round finishes, Mujtaba knows the scale of the opportunity that he now has in front of him.
With the opportunity to put together a three-fight win streak and add Sage Northcutt to his record, he is coming into this fight refusing to buy into the narrative that it’s all about his opponent’s comeback.
In an interview with ONE Championship, he said:
“He’s going to be afraid as well. I’m not an easy guy to fight against because I need the win as well, because I’m hungry for the win, too.”
