Returning mixed martial arts fighter 'Super' Sage Northcutt is excited to perform at ONE Championship’s landmark United States show in May, more so after learning that tickets for the event are already sold out.

The Team Alpha Male affiliate will make his long-awaited return to action on May 5 at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video in Colorado, U.S.A. He will take on Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba in a featured lightweight clash.

The event will be the promotion’s first-ever live on-ground event in the United States and will mark Sage Northcutt’s comeback after nearly four years away from competing due to various medical issues.

'Super' Sage was among the first athletes under ONE to share the news that the U.S. show will be played in front of a sold-out arena. He wrote on Twitter:

“ONE Fight Night 10 is officially sold out! Looking forward to seeing you in the packed arena in Denver #ONEFightNight10?”

In the lead-up to his return, Sage Northcutt has made it known that he will be using the fight against Ahmed Mujtaba to reintroduce himself to fans who might have forgotten what he is capable of as a fighter.

The multi-time karate world champion made his promotional debut in May 2019. He lost to Brazil's Cosmo Alexandre by way of a first-round knockout. Making matters worse, he suffered multiple facial fractures in the aftermath which required a long recovery period.

In 2021, 'Super' was supposed to return to the circle against Japanese legend Shinya Aoki, but he contracted COVID-19, rendering the fight a no-go.

ONE Fight Night 10 will take place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, and will be aired live and for free to all North American fans with an active Prime Video subscription.

Sage Northcutt impressed by Ahmed Mujtaba’s fighting skills

'Super' Sage Northcutt is expecting to be tested by Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba when they lock horns at ONE Championship’s first-ever live United States show in May.

The two lightweight campaigners are pitted against each other at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5 in Colorado, U.S.A. It is part of the promotion’s fifth Amazon show of the year, which will be aired live and for free to all North American fans with an active Prime Video subscription.

Apart from sharpening his game with Team Alpha Male in the lead-up, Sage Northcutt is also taking time to study Ahmed Mujtaba and admitted he is impressed with the fighting skills of 'Wolverine'.

He shared to Great Day Colorado in an interview:

"So my opponent, watching his last two fights, he’s talented. One of his fights he had a solid knockout, the last fight he just had he had a very unique submission, a triangle on his opponent who’s a black belt in jiu-jitsu, so that’s something definitely to watch out for."

Sage Northcutt, however, was quick to say that he is undeterred by what he has seen, and believes he can ably take on the Mujtaba challenge come fight night.

He said:

"But, you know I’m training super hard. Making sure I’m staying sharp, making sure I’m ready for May 5."
