Sage Northcutt raves about his incredible support system

'Super' Sage Northcutt is surrounded by a host of fighters in his day-to-day life. The US-born athlete has his sister, father, and brother-in-law who are all combat sports athletes.

During an interview with Saray Gaitan of The MMA Superfan, 'Super' Sage explained:

"My dad is one of my coaches growing up, my sister’s an incredible fighter, my brother-in-law is one of the top kickboxers in the world and incredible. Everybody’s supported me, it feels great." [3:42 - 3:53]

Sage Northcutt is referring to his father Mark, who is a black belt in shuri-ryu karate. His sister, Colbey Northcutt, is also a professional MMA fighter who is 2-0 in ONE Championship. Colbey's husband is Raymond Daniels, who held a Bellator kickboxing title.

In his return fight later this year, Northcutt will need all the support he can get. The American athlete will return to fight stateside on May 5 at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video. This will be ONE Championship's first on-site USA event hosted at the 1stBank Arena in Broomfield, Colorado.

All ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video. At ONE Fight Night 10, 'Super' Sage will meet the dangerous Pakistani athlete 'Wolverine' Ahmed Mujtaba.

Sage Northcutt will use his family's guidance against Ahmed Mujtaba

Sage Northcutt has not seen action inside the ONE circle since his knockout loss in 2019. Since then, he has spent some time recovering and is looking forward to his comeback match on May 5.

His dance partner for the evening will be Ahmed Mujtaba. In an interview with Great Day Colorado. 'Super' Sage said:

"So my opponent, watching his last two fights, he’s talented. One of his fights he had a solid knockout, the last fight he just had he had a very unique submission, a triangle on his opponent who’s a black belt in jiu-jitsu, so that’s something definitely to watch out for."

Ahmed Mujtaba has won most of his fights via stoppage. Utilizing his lethal skillset, he has finished most of his opponents by way of submission or KO/TKO, and is dangerous standing up and on the ground.

Sage Northcutt will need all the guidance he can get from his family to defeat 'Wolverine.' 'Super' Sage alongside his lifelong coach Mark, his father, will need to craft a specific game plan to secure a victory.
