Sage Northcutt raves about Team Alpha Male ahead of next fight

American mixed martial arts fighter Sage Northcutt is set to make his long-awaited return to action in May. He feels fortunate to have a capable group to back him up in Team Alpha Male.

After four years on the sidelines due to various medical issues, 'Super' resumes fighting on May 5 at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video in Colorado, U.S.A. He will take on Ahmed 'Wolverine' Mujtaba in a lightweight clash, part of the card for ONE Championship’s first-ever United States live on-ground offering.

Northcutt, 27, is determined to make it a winning return, working hard in training with Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California, which he said has been producing positive results.

The multi-time karate champion told The MMA Superfan in an interview:

“I’ve been training at Team Alpha Male so I got great coaches around me, great teammates. There’s always new teammates coming into the gym who are incredible at what they do, whether they’re wrestlers, great kickboxers, great jiu-jitsu [fighters], so that’s always fun too. And then I just have a great team behind me, Team Alpha Male.”

Northcutt made his promotional debut in May 2019 at ONE: Enter the Dragon, where he lost by knockout in the first round against Brazilian Cosmo Alexandre. To make it worse for ‘Super’ Sage, he suffered multiple facial fractures in the aftermath, which required surgery and considerable recovery time.

Now healthy, he is excited to resume his sidetracked ONE journey at ONE Fight Night 10, happening at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The event will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

Sage Northcutt will return to action after a four-year hiatus against Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba in a lightweight clash at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5 in Broomfield, Colorado.

‘Super’ Sage said he is using the fight as a way to reintroduce himself to fight fans and show them what he is capable of after his ONE journey took an unexpected turn at the onset due to injury. Prior to joining the promotion, he was riding a three-fight win streak.
