Sage Northcutt recalls a time when he had to save his friend from bullies.

Sage Northcutt is no superhero, but for his childhood friend, he might just be.

The always-smiling American star recalled a time during his time in high school when he had to use his martial arts to save his friend.

In an interview with the Fistivities with KB and Renato Laranja, ‘Super’ Sage said he had to choke someone out after they continued to pick on his friend.

Northcutt also remembered that there were a couple of times when some people would take advantage of his innate kindness.

“Yeah, growing up, a couple of times in school actually. There was a few times, but nah, not too much. That was when I was pretty young. I actually had one of my friends in high school who started getting picked on, and as he was getting picked on and stuff, I had to choke someone out one time.”

Fortunately for Northcutt or some random bully, all the submission holds he’s been doing are under the confined and respected rules of mixed martial arts.

The lightweight contender recently made a triumphant return to the Circle when he submitted Ahmed Mujtaba at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Prime Video.

Northcutt was out of action for nearly four years due to injuries and COVID-19, but the performance he displayed in his bout against Mujtaba was pure magic.

Despite being a natural striker, Northcutt slapped in a tight heel hook for the sub-minute submission finish in the opening round.

There’s no official word yet on whom Northcutt will face in his next match, but his previous bout and the entire ONE Fight Night 10 replay are available for free on Prime Video in North America.
