Sage Northcutt teases what fans can expect in ONE Championship’s first U.S. show

'Super' Sage Northcutt is excited for ONE Championship's first event hosted on U.S. soil. The American athlete offered a small preview of what combat sports fans should be expecting and looking forward to later this year.

Sage Northcutt's return is booked for ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, set for for May 5. The 26-year-old will be fighting on home soil in the United States, as he is set to face Ahmed Mujtaba at the 1stBank Arena in Colorado. All the action will be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon subscribers across North America.

ONE Championship's first show in the U.S. will likely feature MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and submission grappling. In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Northcutt said:

"I heard there’s going to be, like a little teaser, there’s going to be possibly four different styles of martial arts. Possibly, it’s going to be kickboxing, Muay Thai, maybe jiu-jitsu. Also, like, submission grappling and MMA. So that’s going to be insane. I think that’s got to be the first for the U.S., for sure."

Sage Northcutt is ready to get back and fight in ONE

'Super' Sage Northcutt has not fought in MMA since losing in the ONE circle back in 2019. His return fight in ONE Championship will be on home turf in Colorado, and Northcutt could not be more excited to get back in the cage.

While speaking in an interview with ONE Championship, 'Super' Sage said:

"It feels so good to be back. It’s been a while. I’ve been itching to get back ... A lot of people will be thinking, ‘Hey, Sage might have some ring rust.’ It’s been three-and-a-half years. It’s a little bit of time. But I’ve been training, I’ve been staying sharp. I feel like I’ve improved in a lot of different areas. I’m looking forward to showing it.”

Northcutt concluded by explaining what his goals are:

“If I get the opportunity I would love to have a couple more fights this year. I would love to be super active. I wanna knock out a couple of fights this year with ONE Championship and have great performances. That’s what I’m shooting for.”
