Fans have grown impressed with Freddie Haggerty, younger brother of ONE world champion Jonathan Haggerty, and see him as achieving the kind of success 'The General' has achieved in ONE Championship.

They made their opinions known of the 20-year-old Knowlesy Academy/Team Underground affiliate in the comments section of the promotion's carousel of videos on Instagram of Freddie's impressive KO victories since making his promotional debut in January last year.

Below are what some of them wrote.

One user likened Freddie Haggerty's striking prowess to that of his champion brother, writing:

Another, meanwhile, highlighted the standing of the Haggerty brothers as not to be messed up with, saying:

Some comments placed Freddie Haggerty as a superstar in the making and possibly surpassing what Jonathan Haggerty, the reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion and a former two-division Muay Thai king, has accomplished in the promotion.

Freddie Haggerty made his promotional debut at ONE Friday Fights 49 in January 2024, knocking out Thai Dankalong Sor Dechapan in the second round. He then followed it up with two more KO wins over Thais Kaichon Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang and Kaoklai Chor Hapayak in July and December, respectively.

Freddie Haggerty seeks to continue rolling at ONE 170

ONE Championship's Instagram post on Freddie Haggerty was in line with his scheduled return to action at ONE 170 on Jan. 24, where he will try to continue rolling and stay undefeated in his promotional journey.

He will take on ONE-debuting Jordan Estupinan in a flyweight Muay Thai clash, part of the event at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Haggerty has won all of his three fights to date in ONE Championship, all coming by way of knockout.

In Estupinan, he is up against an opponent who is making his professional debut and looking to carve a name for himself in the fight game like his twin brother Johan, who has been impressive and undefeated in four fights to date in ONE.

Incidentally, Johan Estupinan is also seeing action at ONE 170 against teen phenom Johan Ghazali in a flyweight Muay Thai joust.

ONE 170 will be aired live and for free at U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
