Jake Paul surprised many fans after knocking out Mike Perry by calling out Alex Pereira, but UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley loved the bold move. Pereira remains under contract with the UFC but has entertained the idea of a potential boxing fight after his contract is over.
While the general consensus of most fans is that the influencer boxer would be biting off more than he can chew with the potential matchup, O'Malley believes it could be closer than most think.
O'Malley said:
"F******* beautiful callout... Imagine Alex Pereira vs. Jake Paul. Alex has crazy power in both hands but the dude literally throws from his hips. The dude is there to be hit. That was a big thing with Mike Perry... [Alex Pereira] is terrifying but I love the callout. Imagine if we get to see that."

In his compliment of the callout, O'Malley also noted that the fight would "not happen" due to Pereira's current situation in the UFC, making the callout a smart move.
Paul called out Pereira immediately after pushing out another promotion for his fight with Mike Tyson that is expected to take place on Nov. 15.
Sean O'Malley's connection to Jake Paul
Jake Paul and Sean O'Malley have worked together multiple times in the past, most recently collaborating to promote Paul's new hygiene brand 'W' on social media.
O'Malley has also worked with Paul's betting brand, Betr, in several social media videos.
O'Malley and Paul do not appear to be close friends but continue to cross paths and support each other's respective businesses.
With Paul expected to face Mike Tyson on Nov. 15, O'Malley is expected to defend the UFC bantamweight title in late 2024 against top contender Merab Dvalishvili. The fight has been rumored to headline Noche UFC in September but has not been confirmed by the promotion.
