The No.1-ranked bantamweight contender Sean O'Malley was among those who were taken aback by the judge's decision to give Paddy Pimblett the win over Jared Gordon at UFC 282. 'Sugar' uploaded his live reaction to the bizarre decision on his YouTube channel. In the video, the 28-year-old is seen saying that "he'd be really surprised" if the judges gave the fight to 'The Baddy.'
Moments later, when the results were announced, a surprised O'Malley can be seen asking UFC lightweight Matt Frevola whether he agreed with the decision, to which the 32-year-old responded that he didn't.

'Sugar' has also been at the end of a rather controversial split decision win against former bantamweight champion Petr Yan last October at UFC 280. However, it's fair to say that Pimbletts's unanimous decision win was not received all too unanimously by the MMA community. Many fans and fighters felt that Gordon was robbed of a win against the Englishman.
Despite Pimblett slightly edging out Gordon in terms of significant strikes, the American dominated the Scouser in all grappling scenarios and netted a total of 6 minutes 28 seconds of control time during the fight. However, during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, 'The Baddy' stressed that the fight was far from a close affair and that he had inflicted the most damage over the three rounds.

Sean O'Malley hopes Paddy Pimblett gets more skilled and less fat
During a recent episode of his TimboSugarShow podcast, Sean O'Malley explained what he hoped Paddy Pimblett would do in the wake of his controversial win against Jared Gordon.
'Sugar' thinks that it's high time Paddy Pimblett got more disciplined, trained harder, and gained less weight in between fight camps if he wanted to be a better fighter. The 28-year-old opined that the Englishman is very skilled despite his recent performance:
"I bet Paddy takes away from that fight and goes okay I need to fu****g dial in, this is the time I need to dial in and not get fat as f**k and get skilled, get more skilled because he has skills. He knows how to perform, he is not bad. He has a lot of potential. He just needs [to make sure] where is he going to direct his energy, is he going to get better or is he going to get fatter."
