Sean O'Malley does not share the popular consensus on controversial social media influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate. Tate's recent arrest in Romania has sparked an international debate over his views and his alleged criminal past.

O'Malley spoke about his arrest on an episode of the TimboSugarShow with his friend and coach, Tim Welch. The two discussed the Tate brothers' actions online while 'Sugar' echoed his fellow podcaster's statements on their innocence until they were proven guilty.

The No.1-ranked UFC bantamweight said:

"Top G [Andrew Tate] and his brother Tristan went to prison, I don't know if it was prison man. Did they get out yet or are they on a 30-day hold? I don't know man. [Welch: Innocent until proven guilty] Yeah, that's true. They're clearly intelligent. If they were making bread and they were doing it illegally, I don't think they'd be on the internet as much, talking as much as they do."

Sean O'Malley "frustrated" with UFC bantamweight title picture

UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling was rumored to be fighting former champion Henry Cejudo for the 135-pound strap at UFC 285 on March 5th, but that matchup appears to have fallen through. Citing an injury, Sterling has claimed that he will be ready for Cejudo by the summer.

Sean O'Malley, who is expected to take on the winner, recently aired the idea of him facing Cejudo for the interim title at UFC 285 while Sterling recovers. O'Malley has been on the sidelines since his narrow win over Petr Yan in October last year and is clearly itching to return to the octagon.

In the latest edition of The BrOMalley Show, 'Sugar' said:

"Me vs. Henry [Cejudo] for the interim belt right under there [in the UFC 285 fight card]. Tell me that ain't fire?"

O'Malley added:

"I texted Hunter, texted Sean Shelby... I said, 'Will you at least time an idea or at least say yes or no, is Henry vs. Aljo happening?' They just don't know. I don't know if Henry or Aljo... they are kind of waiting to see if he [Aljamain Sterling] can or what. But I'm frustrated... but I'm okay because I'm just training, you know what I mean."
