Famous YouTuber TimTheTatman shared a hilarious story about him and Sean O’Malley.
O’Malley has become a superstar inside and outside the Octagon. When he’s not fighting for the UFC, ‘Sugar’ sometimes hangs out with celebrities, including TimTheTatman, who has 4.85 million subscribers on his primary YouTube channel. The professional video gamer recently told this story that involved the number one-ranked UFC bantamweight contender:
“I have to tell you guys this story. One of the girls who’s a waitress comes up, and she didn’t know who Sean and I, either of us were. She saw a lotta people taking photos with us. She was like, I don’t know who either of you guys are. What do you do? Sean O’Malley goes, I’m a professional video game player. Without skipping a beat, I say, I am a competitive bantamweight UFC fighter. The girl looks at us and goes, ‘oh.’”
TimTheTatman concluded by saying:

“Funniest part [was] Sean’s hand is broken right now. He has a cast on his hand and the girl goes, I think you guys are lying to me because his hand is broken. Sean looks at her dead in the eye and just goes, I was just gaming really hard.”
Sean O’Malley last fought in October 2022, defeating Petr Yan by a split decision. ‘Sugar’ was underestimated going into the bantamweight showdown, but the 28-year-old silenced the doubters by proving he’s durable and able to beat the elite 135ers.

Sean O’Malley reacts to his new UFC contract
Sean O’Malley joined the UFC in 2017 after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. Since then, ‘Sugar’ has won eight of his ten UFC fights, with one no-contest and his only loss coming against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera in 2020. During a video on his YouTube channel, O’Malley discussed his new eight-fight contract by saying:
"I tried to get it, you know pay-per-view points not being the champ, didn’t fly, but I will say I did re-sign with the UFC. I got a very gracious contract that I'm proud of... And I truly don't think any manager that I had could have went in there and got me what I got."
It’s unclear what’s next for O’Malley. The 28-year-old has claimed he wants a title shot in his next fight. Reigning champion Aljamain Sterling is expected to fight Henry Cejudo in May, but nothing has been confirmed.
There’s still a chance Sterling won’t be able to recover from his torn bicep, which he’s attempting to heal with stem cells. If ‘Funk Master’ needs surgery, ‘Sugar’ might find himself fighting for the interim bantamweight title against Cejudo.
