Sean Strickland had some harsh words for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) and former UFC fighter Paige VanZant. Strickland was annoyed with the fact that the BKFC allowed an aging Diego Sanchez to fight former boxing champion Austin Trout.
A user asked Sean Strickland why he was burning bridges with BKFC, adding that everyone was expecting 'Tarzan' to join the organization if his UFC career didn't work out. Taking shots at BKFC and Paige VanZant, Strickland posted the following tweet:
The caption to Strickland's response read:

"Bro, we all know [that] BKFC spent all their money signing Paige VanZant! [In BKFC's words] - 'Come on guys, watch us. Look, we signed an OnlyFans model can't fight.', while the real warriors are making nothing. Clown show
The BKFC bout between Trout and Sanchez was a one-sided beating where Austin Trout got the better of the exchanges over Diego Sanchez, eventually winning the bout via doctor stoppage in round four.
Strickland first posted a tweet referring to beating Sanchez as 'beating up a r*tard'. He then followed it up with the following tweet directed at BKFC:
The caption on Sean Strickland's tweet read:
"You sign an old fighter who should retire and call it a fight. Your organization is a clown show, and you know if this conversation was in person, you wouldn't make eye contact with me. Welcome to the internet, tough guy."
BKFC replied with a tweet saying that he would have found better success against Alex Pereira if he'd kept the same energy he was projecting online in the fight.
Paige VanZant had a moderately successful career in the UFC with a promotional record of 5-4, and an overall MMA record of 8-5. At one point, she was touted as one of the biggest stars in the UFC. After being released by the UFC, VanZant made an unsuccessful transition to BKFC where she's currently 0-2 in the organization. VanZant has found success as an OnlyFans content creator and regularly posts to the subscription-based streaming site.
What's next for Sean Strickland?
In 18 UFC fights, Sean Strickland has 13 wins and five losses. Between 2018 and 2022, 'Tarzan' racked up five wins before meeting Alex Pereira at UFC 276. In the fight against 'Poatan', Strickland suffered a first-round knockout loss.
'Tarzan' didn't find much success against Jared Cannonier at UFC Fight Night 216, where he lost a five-round decision to 'The Killa Gorilla'. It might have seemed like the writing was on the wall for Sean Strickland. However, Strickland started the year strong in his last-minute LHW debut against Nassourdine Imavov.
'Tarzan' had a dominant performance against Imavov, who was supposed to face Kelvin Gastelum in a middleweight bout. With Gastelum pulling out at the 11th hour due to a mouth injury, Strickland stepped in and the bout was contested at 205 pounds.
No fight has been announced yet for Sean Strickland. He is easily one of the best fighters in the middleweight division, having lost to the top-rung of athletes in the division.
