Sean Strickland recently reacted to Justin Trudeau's announcement that he will step down as Canada's prime minister as soon as his party finds a replacement. The former UFC middleweight champion expressed glee at Trudeau stepping down and lashed out at him for "ruining" Canada for years.
Trudeau recently made waves after he laid out his plans to resign after nearly ten years in power. The 53-year-old also stated that party infighting made it difficult for him to face his political rival and that the ruling Liberal Party deserved a new leader ahead of the next election in October.
In a recent X post, Strickland celebrated Trudeau stepping down and claimed it was "a great day" for Canada, stating:
"It's a great day for Canada. That dirty f**king communist @JustinTrudeau has finally resigned after years of ruining his country... Now, just don't replace him with another POS liberal who hates freedom and loves taxes... Good luck, Canada!"

Sean Strickland explains aversion to fighting in Australia ahead of Dricus du Plessis rematch
Sean Strickland isn't a fan of competing in Australia. The American recently explained that he's taxed heavily every time he fights in the country and claimed every fighter on the UFC 312 card is pressured into competing there against their wishes.
During an X exchange with a fan, Strickland was asked about how fighters were taxed in Australia. The former middleweight king sounded off on Australian taxes and wrote:
"I get absolutely f**ked.. no one wants to go to that f**king place.. I think it's like 40... Everyone on this card is being forced to go there, lol, it's not by choice."
