No.7-ranked middleweight Sean Strickland has found himself beefing with former kickboxing champion Cédric Doumbè on Twitter. In his Instagram stories, the Cameroonian-French former GLORY kickboxing champion begged Dana White to give him Sean Strickland at this year's UFC Paris event.
Strickland took a screenshot of the same and shared it on his Instagram story, which was then captured by the French kickboxer, who shared it on his Twitter page.
Sean Strickland is coming off a unanimous decision victory over the Dagestani-French fighter Nassourdin Imavov at UFC Fight Night 217. Imavov was originally supposed to face Kelvin Gastelum in the main event but faced Strickland at 205 pounds after Gastelum pulled out at the eleventh hour due to a mouth injury.

Doumbè said the following:
"Please, I beg Dana White. Give me that guy for the next UFC Paris [event]."
He followed it up with:
"[At] 170 [pounds], I'mma show this [crack] head face what MMA is all about."
Strickland, on his Insta story, shared a screenshot of Doumbè's callout and laughed it off, saying that he'd "get stabbed" with a "butter knife" by the French kickboxer.
At one point, Cédric Doumbè was supposed to fight in the UFC and make his debut at UFC Fight Night 209. The French MMA Federation, however, did not sanction Doumbè since he had less than 10 MMA fights.
Sean Strickland finds success at 205 pounds
Going into 2023, 'Tarzan' was on a two-fight losing streak. He first suffered a devastating first-round KO at UFC 276 at the hands of current middleweight champion Alex Pereira, who put a stop to his six-fight win streak.
Strickland then faced Jared Cannonier at UFC Fight Night 216, where he lost to 'The Killa Gorilla' via unanimous decision. A third consecutive loss would've surely spelt trouble for Strickland.
However, 'Tarzan' ended up facing Nassourdin Imavov at UFC Fight Night 217, where he won via unanimous decision. The fight marked the light heavyweight debut for both fighters, who generally compete at middleweight.
Strickland is currently 6-2 at middleweight, 5-2 at welterweight, and 1-0 at light heavyweight in the UFC. He has a promotional MMA record of 13-5 and an overall MMA record of 26-5.
