Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland shared his response to an old clip of former UFC welterweight contender Nick Diaz. Strickland is scheduled to fight Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 312 in Sydney, Australia, and is currently in fight camp.
On the other hand, Nick Diaz has just fought once in almost 10 years now. The California native made his return to the octagon in 2021 after a six-year layoff at UFC 266 against Robbie Lawler. The 41-year-old was scheduled to fight again last year in December against Vicente Luque but withdrew due to unknown reasons.
An old clip of Diaz was posted on Instagram by Squid Vicious MMA, in which a reporter asked him if he was excited about his next fight. Diaz responded by saying:
"I’m not excited. I don’t get excited, that word in fighting doesn’t mix with me. There are certain words you don’t like to hear because they don’t mix or belong. When you ask me, am I ready, no, f**k no, I’m not ready, I don’t wanna hear someone ask me if I’m ready or if I’m excited. Those two things, ready and excited, I don’t wanna hear. I can slap the sh*t out of somebody for asking me that."

Chris Curtis reveals he and Sean Strickland almost got into a fistfight ahead of UFC 312 title fight against Dricus Du Plessis
UFC middleweight contender Chris Curtis revealed that he and Sean Strickland almost got into a fight in Strickland's training camp ahead of the Dricus Du Plessis clash. During the UFC Vegas 101 media day, Curtis shared details of a heated altercation he had with 'Tarzan'.
The 37-year-old said:
"There are times when I have debated hitting him with a brick. Like, not even joking, I'm like, 'Bro, I'm gonna hit you with a f**king brick.' Like, I don't care where it goes...This time led to a fistfight as well. And we were really about to throw down, and the entire gym was like, 'Are you guys really doing this?' And I'm like threatening to cripple him before he fights Dricus. I was like, 'I will f**king cripple you!' So, yeah, we get out of hand."
