UFC middleweight Sean Strickland isn't shying away from controversy. In a recent interview with Daniel Cormier, Strickland slammed the UFC for its treatment of fighters, particularly regarding pay disparity.

Strickland's comments highlight a long-standing issue in MMA: fighter compensation. While UFC stars can earn millions, the vast majority of fighters on the roster struggle financially. The former champion believes fighters need to take a more aggressive stance to secure better deals.

Speaking to 'DC', he said:

"The UFC doesn’t do the right things… It doesn’t do the right things with most of their rosters… The guys that run the UFC what they’re making to what guys [fighters] gets paid, its f**king shit dude, the UFC does not do the f**king right thing and unless you hold them at f**king you know gunpoint, they ain’t going to do it.”

Strickland is looking to return to the title mix this weekend after losing his title to Dricus du Plessis earlier this year. He takes on Paulo Costa in the co-main event of UFC 302, which will be headlined by a lightweight title bout featuring Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier.

Sean Strickland joins Islam Makhachev in criticizing UFC's new gloves

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland isn't a fan of the promotion's new gloves, joining lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in criticizing their effectiveness.

The UFC is implementing new gloves, dubbed 3Eight for non-title bouts and 5Eight for championship fights, aimed at reducing eye pokes and cuts. However, Strickland echoed Makhachev's concerns, questioning the design's effectiveness.

During media day, Strickland voiced his disapproval of the gloves' designers. He argued that the stiffer material might lead to more cuts and that eye pokes are a result of technique, not glove design.
