As Sean Strickland prepares for his upcoming rematch against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 312, he has found a way to make his cardio training more engaging. Strickland recently shared which popular Marvel TV show he's been watching while putting in the hard yards.

The former middleweight champion revealed that immersing himself in the action-packed TV series "The Punisher" is helping him get through runs. "The Punisher," starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, follows the story of a former Marine who becomes a vigilante after his family is murdered. The series is known for its intense action sequences and complex character development, making it a compelling choice for Strickland during his training sessions.

On his Instagram stories, the polarizing 185-pounder wrote:

Strickland's upcoming bout against du Plessis is highly anticipated. Their first encounter at UFC 297 was a closely contested bout, with 'Stillknocks' securing a split decision victory to win the middleweight title.

Strickland bounced back with a decision win over Paulo Costa, while du Plessis defended his title against Israel Adesanya. The rematch between the South African champion and the American challenger is scheduled for Feb. 9 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Sean Strickland proposes a pact with Dricus du Plessis, gets instantly turned down

Leading up to their rematch, Sean Strickland has proposed a stand-up battle, requesting that Dricus du Plessis refrain from using takedowns when they run it back. In a promotional video for his Full Violence merch drop, the former champion said:

''Listen Dutchman, I'm going to need you to be a fu**ing man and I'm gonna need you to stand up, not go to your knees, and we're gonna need to fu**ing strike like men."

The champion, du Plessis, dismissed the idea of a stand-up-only agreement. He told Fox Sports Australia:

"If you want to make pacts about us just standing up, go do boxing."

‘Stillknocks’ then criticized Strickland for trying to "sound tough" before vowing to expose the latter:

"He said 'to the death' and I was ready for that. You saw it, too, I went forward for 23 minutes of a 25-minute fight. But from him? It was jabs and teeps... Sean Strickland knows a lot of one-liners to sound tough, but I expose fake tough guys. I'm not here to make pacts, I'm here to win."
