"See how things pan out" - Jacob Smith open to two-sport glory if he upsets Rodtang for Muay Thai gold at ONE 169

Jacob Smith isn't letting anything distract from the task that he has in front of him at ONE 169 in just a few short weeks.

The Brit is used to competing in big fights under the ONE Championship banner at this stage. But that being said, they don't get much bigger than this.

On Nov. 8 at Lumpinee Stadium, he will look to secure revenge over a familiar foe in the biggest fight of his career to date.

Smith will face Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a rematch for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship.

The Brit knows that a win here could change his life and career so letting other distractions enter the picture simply isn't an option.

However, defeating Rodtang to become the world champion is going to open up a lot of doors for him, including the option to crossover into kickboxing.

In a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, he gave his thoughts on whether making that switch could be in his future:

"I mean kickboxing? I don't know. I'm not sure. I'm not too sure. Kickboxing is not really me game. So I'd just have to see how things pan out and what offers come."

This rematch with Rodtang at ONE 169 is what Jacob Smith has been building to for a long time at this stage.

His ONE Championship debut came against the Thai superstar back in 2022 where he has been able to admit where he went wrong in that first encounter.

As a result, kickboxing, different weight class or anything like that haven't crossed his mind because running it back with the world champion has been the primary goal.

On Nov. 8, he will look to show that he has made the right adjustments and improvements to come away with the win.
