The Serhii Bohachuk vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr. payouts haven't been officially disclosed, but their previous earnings could shed some light on the financial trajectory of their careers. Bohachuk will look to defend his interim WBC light middleweight title, which he captured in a lopsided demolition of Brian Mendoza in his most recent outing.
It remains the only decision win of his career, and while he didn't reveal the exact figure he pocketed for that championship victory, he participated in an interview on April 16 this year. Amid rumors that the Mendoza fight had been his most lucrative one up until that point, Bohachuk happily confirmed them.
He told Sport Express that he had earned between $70,000 to $100,000 for beating Mendoza, describing it as the biggest payout of his career.
"Yes, that was the largest purse of my career. It was in the range of $70,000 to $100,000."

While that was the largest figure Bohachuk has ever earned, with little information on his past bouts, the same cannot be said for Ortiz, who has earned significantly more. As disclosed by the California State Athletic Commission, the American raked in $800,000 for his previous first-round knockout of Thomas Dulorme.
Award-winning boxing journalist Dan Rafael revealed the news by sharing an image of the payouts from the Golden Boy card in Fresno, California.
Prior to that, Ortiz is reported, by both Marca and NY Fights, to have earned $300,000 for beating Frederick Lawson. As this will be the first proper world title fight, albeit interim, in Ortiz's career, it is likely that he will earn more than he ever has for fighting Bohachuk, who should similarly earn a career-high purse.
The Serhii Bohachuk vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr. is expected to end with a stoppage
Stylistically, Serhii Bohachuk and Vergil Ortiz Jr. are distinct, but they're both outrageously powerful punchers, with their bout expected to end in a knockout, as neither man cares much for defense. The Ukrainian phenom is 24-1, with 23 wins coming by way of either knockout or TKO.
Only Brian Mendoza, known for never having been knocked out, survived until the final bell, but not without being on the receiving end of an extremely one-sided beating. Ortiz, meanwhile, is 21-0 and has knocked out every single opponent he has ever faced.
Their absurd knockout percentages will be a major topic of interest come fight, as both men clash this Saturday on Aug. 10.
