Third-ranked ONE Championship featherweight MMA contender 'The Cobra' Shamil Gasanov of Russia has a long list of supporters and teammates to thank for his most recent win.
But he's also very much grateful to a certain countryman who helped him with what he says was an absolute blast of a training camp.
Gasanov took time out to thank former UFC champion Petr Yan for helping him get ready for his ONE Fight Night 26 fight against Turkey's Halil Amir last weekend.

'The Cobra' told the media at the official ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov post-fight interview backstage:
"First of all, my brother Muhammad – he’s always by my side and oversees every step of my preparation from A to Z. I’d also like to thank the guys from my gym, Peresvet, Petr Yan for the incredible training camp, and the team at Tiger Muay Thai."
Gasanov turned in an epic performance, dominating Amir from start to end in a three-round featherweight MMA contest. The Russian star came away with a unanimous decision.
ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Prime Video took place live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, last Saturday, December 7. Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action via replay on Amazon Prime Video.

It seems third-ranked featherweight MMA contender 'The Cobra' Shamil Gasanov expects that he is next in line to challenge for the division's throne after his exemplary performance against Halil Amir last weekend at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video.
The 29-year-old says he is back in training and already getting ready for his next fight.
Gasanov told ONE:
"I’m always ready for a title fight. But I have another fight lined up first, which isn’t for the title. It was offered to me right after this victory, and I agreed. The fight is happening soon, so I’m already back to work. I can’t share the details yet, but you’ll find out very soon."
