Shavkat Rakhmonov recently disclosed why Ian Machado Garry never released their full sparring session, noting that only a small portion was conveniently released. 'Nomad' and 'The Future' were teammates at Kill Cliff and spent time training and sparring with each other.
The Irishman has been open about their sparring session being meaningless, however, the Kazakh appears to differ as he pointed out a notable omission. 'Nomad' had said that he got the better of Machado Garry when they sparred and that he believes he will once again get the better of him when they meet in the octagon at UFC 310.
During his latest appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, the No.1 ranked welterweight disclosed that the Irishman's wife was responsible for recording their sparring session and questioned why it wasn't uploaded in full. Rakhmonov disclosed that the remainder of the session didn't go Machado Garry's way and mentioned that he forced him to tap:
"[Machado Garry's] wife asked me if she can film the footage of the sparring and I accepted it, but they didn't ask me if they can release it or no. And I wonder why they didn't release the other part of the sparring...[You would see] how Ian Garry taps... It was a submission choke."

Shavkat Rakhmonov discloses who turned down a fight against him before Ian Machado Garry accepted
Before Ian Machado Garry agreed to step in and fight Shavkat Rakhmonov, the Kazakh competing at UFC 310 was in doubt after Belal Muhammad was forced to withdraw from the event. There was plenty of speculation that Kamaru Usman or Colby Covington would step in on short notice, but the Irishman ended up being the replacement.
During the aforementioned appearance, Rakhmonov discloses that Kamaru Usman was among the names that turned down a fight against him:
"As far as I know, Kamaru Usman turned it down and also pretty much everyone [ranked] in the top-15 didn't accept the fight."
