Veteran kickboxer Anissa Meksen halted a two-fight skid after defeating Kana Morimoto in their showdown last week. She, however, admitted that the win did not come easy as the Japanese star put up a tough stand.

'C18' scored a well-earned decision win over 'Krusher Queen' in their atomweight kickboxing scrap at ONE Friday Fights 92; Sitthichai vs. Shadow on Dec. 20 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

At the post-fight interview session following her victory, Meksen shared what went down in her showdown with Kana and what the experience was like, saying:

"It was a strong fight. She was so good, good hands, good movement, and that's it."

Anissa Meksen made full use of her reach advantage as well as her speed in throwing precise strikes from a distance throughout their scheduled three-rounder that had Kana having a hard time matching up with. In the end, all the judges went the Algerian-French fighter's way for the unanimous decision victory.

The win at ONE Friday Fights 92 halted back-to-back world title fight losses for Meksen. In December 2023, she lost to Thai sensation Phetjeeja by decision for the interim atomweight kickboxing world title. Then last November, Meksen bowed to Filipino-American Jackie Buntan also by decision for the inaugural women's strawweight kickboxing gold.

Kana, meanwhile, was tripped in her maiden ONE outing since coming on board this year from K-1.

Anissa Meksen gets candid with future plans following win over Kana Morimoto

Anissa Meksen admits that her future fighting plans are open to any eventuality, even riding into the sunset if she sees it fit.

Meksen spoke about it during the post-event interview session following her win over Japanese Kana Morimoto at ONE Friday Fights 92 on Dec. 20.

The 36-year-old Parisian said:

"I don 't know yet [what my future plans are]. For me, I'm the champion without the crown. So I'm waiting for something good. If nothing good happens, I think I will retire. Simple."

Meksen is a multiple-time Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion but a ONE Championship title remains elusive for her since joining the promotion in 2021. But her victory over Kana was further testament to her abilities as a fighter even at this stage of her career and that remains potent as a contender.
