Second-ranked ONE Championship atomweight MMA contender 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines has fired back at former rival 'Hamzzang' Ham Seo Hee's comments online.

Ham recently criticized the proposed ONE interim women's atomweight MMA world title bout between Zamboanga and No. 4-ranked Alyona Rassohyna, which was supposed to go down at ONE Fight Night 25 in October.

Zamboanga fell to injury while training for that fight, and had to pull out. When Ham recently found out about this fight, she aired out her concerns on social media.

Now, 'The Menace' has responded and she claps back at the South Korean veteran.

The Filipina said:

"I respect Ham Seo Hee, but it feels like she’s dismissing the struggles I’ve had to face to get here. She’s already had her chance. It’s time for others in the division to step up. It’s time to give others the chance and prove themselves worthy of the title. In this way, the division can truly move forward."

Zamboanga has long been due for a shot at ONE Championship gold, stretching as far back as her 2020 victory over Japanese veteran Mei Yamaguchi. Unfortunately, several issues ranging from Angela Lee's retirement, to the Grand Prix, and now an injury, has prevented her from vying for the gold.

Denice Zamboanga on botched world title opportunities: "I'm still thankful"

Despite constantly missing out on her promised world title shot, 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga says she remains grateful for the opportunity to showcase her talent in the world's largest martial arts organization.

She told The MMA Superfan:

"I feel like I’ll need just a few months then I’ll be okay. I feel I can force myself to fight, but I don’t really wanna risk it. Of course, those kinds of opportunities, I just want it to happen. But I feel there are reasons why it happened. If it’s not my opponent who got injured, then it’s me who has some problems, health-wise. But I’m still thankful because this isn’t that bad of an injury where I have to heal for over a year or half a year."
