Shogun Rua will be looking to end a two-fight losing streak in the UFC when taking on Ihor Potieria at UFC 283 on January 21 next year. Potieria is a Ukrainian MMA fighter who joined the UFC after beating Łukasz Sudolski in Dana White's Contender Series.
Potieria is 18-3 in professional MMA, but lost in his UFC debut against Nicolae Negumereanu at UFC 277: Peña vs. Nunes 2 and is currently 0-1 in the organization. The UFC newbie is 14 years younger than Shogun Rua, who will be stepping into the octagon for the twenty-third time against the young Ukrainian.
The Brazilian has lost back-to-back bouts against Paul Craig and Ovince St. Preux, with his latest win coming against Antônio Rogério Nogueira via split decision at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. Till.

UFC 283 is already shaping up nicely. Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno will be fighting for the fourth-time, with the UFC flyweight title once again on the line.
