Chelsea Chandler faltered in making the contracted bantamweight limit for her fight this weekend and overshot the mark by a sizable amount. She is slated to test skills against Yana Santos at UFC Vegas 95 on Saturday night. This was supposed to be in a bantamweight bout which requires her to ideally hit 135 pounds but at worst, 136 pounds is the cut-off point for a non-title outing.
Chandler came in weighing 141 pounds while Santos clocked in at 135.5 pounds. Whether or not the bout will become a catchweight affair or if it will be scrapped from the card entirely is not known to the public as of this writing.
Multiple fighters missed the mark on the scales ahead of Saturday night as Chepe Mariscal and Danny Barlow each weighed in at 149.5 and 171.25, respectively. The former came in three and a half pounds above the non-title limit for his featherweight fight while the latter came in at a quarter of a pound above his division's non-title limit as a welterweight.
X users responded to Chandler's infraction on the scales with several combat sports fans sounding off online about it.

Chelsea Chandler and her history of missing weight
Chelsea Chandler had her first pair of UFC fights at a 140-pound catchweight and at featherweight but her last two fights in the promotion as a bantamweight have each created issues on the scales for the fighter.
The 33-year-old missed the mark leading into her March contest against Josiane Nunes at UFC Fight Night: Tuivasa vs Tybura. Chandler came in at 137 pounds for the fight and would go on to win her bout on the event's preliminary portion by way of a unanimous decision.
The California native has again not hit the mark weight-wise in the UFC and also curiously enough did so again on a Marcin Tybura undercard. Tybura will rematch Serghei Spivac in the UFC Fight Night main event on Aug. 10.
Chandler has also missed the bantamweight limit even pre-UFC tenure. This happened in her first pro MMA win when she came in at 136.6 pounds to beat Mitzi Merry by unanimous decision in a bantamweight bout at Invicta FC 32.
