Andrew Schulz recently reacted to the controversy surrounding Ian Machado Garry's wife's book and the possibility of a rematch against Shavkat Rakhmonov. The Kazakh earned a unanimous decision win over the Irishman at UFC 310 last weekend to hand him his first career loss.
'The Future' was praised among the MMA community for stepping in on short notice and performing well against arguably the most feared fighter in the division. He was initially scheduled to fight against Joaquin Buckley the following week, however, took the risk and agreed to step in for a title eliminator against Rakhmonov after Belal Muhammad was forced to withdraw from the event.
During the latest episode of his FLAGRANT podcast, the comedian heaped praise on the Irishman's incredible performance against Rakhmonov. Schulz then shared his thoughts on the controversial book of Machado Garry's wife by mentioning that it isn't one to be taken seriously:
"There's been a lot of sh*t talk on Ian Garry, the interesting situation where his wife... Also has her ex... Doing his meals... And then she wrote that book... A lot of on the surface you're like, 'This is f**ked'. Then you read the book and it's clearly a joke... [Machado Garry] ends up losing the decision but almost chokes [Rakhmonov] out in the fifth round... Shout-out to the nutritionist... I wanna see him and Shavkat again after it." [36:25]

Andrew Schulz lavishes praise on Ian Machado Garry
In addition to sharing his thoughts on the controversy surrounding Ian Machado Garry's wife's book, Andrew Schulz lavished praise on the Irishman for his performance at UFC 310.
During the aforementioned episode, Schulz mentioned that Machado Garry's loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov doesn't affect his standing in the welterweight division, but instead makes him want to see his next fight even more:
"This loss is not going to hurt [Machado] Garry at all. I don't think it helps him cause he would have got a title shot immediately afterwards... I think it qualified him and validated him in a way... He's not a prospect, this guy's good." [42:13]
