Aljamain Sterling opens up on his fight with Movsar Evloev being placed on the preliminary card
After losing the bantamweight title to Sean O’Malley, Aljamain Sterling moved up a division and faced Calvin Kattar as his first opponent at featherweight, securing a unanimous decision victory at UFC 300.
In a recent YouTube video on his channel, the 35-year-old expressed his frustration over having to fight on the preliminary card. He shared his disappointment with the promotion, but vowed to prove them wrong, stating:
"I didn't know if I should have been insulted by the placement on the fight card or glass half-full. I guess that's the best way I try to look everything in life...I was a little confused by it of course...It's up to me to prove these guys wrong that, 'Hey, we are and I am a main card fighter'. I think people are going to be in for a very big surprise and the UFC is gonna realize, 'We messed up big time by not putting this on the main card'."
