BJJ star Dante Leon plans on making a statement when he makes his ONE Championship debut this Friday night inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium.
After establishing himself on the global scene as a multi-time IBJJF world champion, the Canadian-born Leon will step onto martial arts' biggest global stage at ONE Fight Night 26 for a showdown with accomplished grappler and MMA standout Bruno Pucci.
Speaking with the Bangkok Post ahead of his promotional premiere on Dec. 6, Leon recognizes that Pucci presents a tough challenge, but the 29-year-old is more than ready to show off his skills and establish himself as a legitimate contender in the lightweight submission grappling division. He said:

“I think he will pose some issues and be a tough challenge for my first match with ONE but my goal is to show the skill gap between us".
According to BJJ Heroes, Leon makes his ONE debut with an incredible 142 career wins, 90 coming by way of submission giving him a 63% finish rate on the mat.
Bruno Pucci believes his MMA experience will come in handy against Dante Leon
Dante Leon's opponent, Bruno Pucci, is best known as a mixed martial artist under the ONE banner — and is the husband of former atomweight MMA queen Angela Lee.
'Puccibull' goes into ONE Fight Night 26 with seven career wins in MMA, but he is also an accomplished grappler, having won the No-Go grappling world championship in 2009 and 2010. However, it's his experience in the fight game that he thinks will make a difference against Leon.
Speaking to ONE, Pucci said:
"Jiu-jitsu for jiu-jitsu, we’re both good. But I think, as I fought for ONE for a while, and as I stepped into the ring for a while, I think that experience can help me come out on top. So, I want to really use the MMA game against the jiu-jitsu game."
Will Pucci score his first submission grappling win in ONE Championship and spoil Leon's big debut?
Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 26 live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, Dec. 6 in U.S. primetime.
