Jackie Buntan has a tough task on the horizon when she squares off with one of the planet's best kickboxers, Anissa Meksen, at ONE 169 on Nov. 8. However, the Filipino-American star believes she has just the right plan to come out on top in their clash to determine the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world champion.
Their five-round duel is one of four world title matchups set for the promotion's latest numbered event, which broadcasts live from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
ABS-CBN News recently caught up with the Boxing Works star to ask her about her goal for this upcoming fight. In response, she shared:
"Showcase new adaptability, be better than my last performance, and win against one of the best kickboxers."

Sure, it won't be as easy as it sounds. But based on her previous appearances on the global stage, Jackie Buntan has showcased that she has enough at her disposal to defeat someone of Meksen's caliber.
The only difference for the former ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title contender this time around is that she'll have to adjust to the ruleset and bigger gloves.
But having spent the bulk of her camp gearing up for the changes, Buntan is all prepared to perfect her road to 26 pounds of gold.
