Showtime Sports to release docu-series on Lee Murray, the MMA fighter who orchestrated the biggest bank heist ever

Lee Murray may not be well-known in the world of Mixed Martial Arts, however, his name gained notoriety for a different reason - his involvement in one of the most audacious and daring bank heists in history.

For those unfamiliar with the story, in 2006, a group of robbers, led by Murray, successfully carried out the largest cash robbery in British history, stealing over $73 million from a Securitas cash depot in Kent. The heist was meticulously planned and executed, involving the use of fake police uniforms, stolen vehicles, and a kidnapped family who were used to gain access to the depot.

Murray, who had retired from MMA at the age of 27, was the mastermind behind the operation, using his knowledge of security systems and his connections in the criminal underworld to put together the team and plan the heist. Despite his efforts to cover his tracks, Murray was eventually caught and sentenced to 10 years in a Moroccan prison, where he remains to this day.
