Conor McGregor has been in the headlines recently, with fighters like Michael Chandler challenging him to a bout on his UFC return. However, it seems like the Irishman is targeting commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan.

McGregor, who recently went after Khabib Nurmagomedov in a now-deleted tweet, is going after Rogan for his commentary during their bout at UFC 229.

The former two-division UFC champion wasn't too happy as he tweeted in reference to Rogan claiming that he was getting "smashed" on the ground against 'The Eagle':

"Shut up Joe you little fool. What are you talking about smash this and smash that? That was my knee smash into his f****n' eye socket yeah."

'Mystic Mac' also posted a photo of Donald Cerrone, a friend of Rogan and a retired UFC fighter, wearing damage from his TKO loss to McGregor in 2020:

"That's smashed up pal. @joerogan. You ever see me like that? Never."

The Irishman didn't stop there, following up with a tweet directed towards Nurmagomedov:

"The lion king chills. Unscathed. They'll do nothin. Wait an I get up I'm gonna and batter the whole family. On top of the cage, the lot. That's a f***n lion chillin right there. and a rat knawing." [sic]

Conor McGregor also took offense to the UFC Hall of Famer using his famous post-fight quote, "We're not here to take part, we're here to take over," while speaking at an event in Toronto, Canada earlier this week.

Is Conor McGregor targeting a bout with Islam Makhachev?

In Conor McGregor's tweet directed towards Khabib Nurmagomedov, he mentioned that he is going to "batter the whole family." It could signify that he intends to challenge UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in the future.

Makhachev is one of the top fighters training under the tutelage of 'The Eagle', and apart from that, he is also Nurmagomedov's lifelong friend.

The former two-division UFC champion might feel that the only way a rematch with Nurmagomedov could even be remotely possible is if he defeats Makhachev in spectacular fashion. That would explain why he's rehashing the past and the series of tweets.
