For his scheduled fight next month, Filipino strawweight MMA fighter Jeremy Miado decided to hold camp in the Philippines instead of Thailand. He said he is confident that it was a move that should help him come fight.

'The Jaguar' will play ONE Fight Night 23: Ok vs. Rasulov on Prime Video on July 5. He is to take on Japanese Hiroba Minowa in a strawweight MMA showdown happening at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

It is part of the event which will be available to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Speaking to The MMA Superfan in an interview, Jeremy Miado spoke about what training has been like, including the decision to prepare in the Philippines, which he said worked well for him and his team.

The 31-year-old Albay native said:

"I'm doing the same training as I did [in Thailand]. The wrestling skills I learned from there are still with me, I just need constant repetitions for muscle memory to respond. My reaction time and reflexes are still great."

At ONE Fight Night 23, Jeremy Miado is seeking to escape a three-fight skid and resume his assault on the top five standing in the strawweight division.

Meanwhile, out to frustrate him is Minowa, the No. 4 contender in the division who is also riding a three-match skid of his own.

Jeremy Miado looking to set the tone in match against Minowa

Unlike in his previous matches, Jeremy Miado wants to dictate the tempo in his clash with Hiroba Minowa at ONE Fight Night 23 on July 5 with his striking. He is hoping that by doing so it would lead to early inroads and set up a quick finish in his favor.

It is this mindset that he shared in an interview with ABS-CBN, honed by the shortcomings he had previously and he is looking to redeem himself from.

Jeremy Miado said:

"Looking at my previous fights, I've learned to be more confident with my strikes. I shouldn't really think twice. I have to let my game flow. I have to tag him early so that he'll be the one thinking twice each time he shoots the moment he feels my power."

He added:

"I'm gonna come in confident. This fight won't reach the decision, and I plan to end [it] by the end of the first round. You know how I fight, I always fight to finish."

Miado has lost three straight entering ONE Fight Night 23, but before that, he won fourt consecutive matches, all by way of knockout.
