Middleweight prospects Brendan Allen and Andre Muniz were promoted to main-event status in a last-minute change on the UFC Vegas 70 fight card, after the original headliner fell through due to Nikita Krylov pulling out.
While it was a mostly even affair, Allen pulled off a spectacular submission win in the final minute, ending Muniz's unbeaten UFC run.
'All In' caught a body kick from the Brazilian and slammed him to the ground with two minutes to go in the final round.

While Allen initially attempted an arm-triangle from side control, he subsequently transitioned to a rear-naked choke which seemingly caught his opponent off guard. Giving due credit to the 27-year-old, UFC bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling said:
"All these backpacks in the game! Slick RNC after a HUGE slam from Allen, over a BJJ black belt. Very impressive work! #UFCVegas70"
Poirier and newly crowned light heavyweight champ Jamahal Hill also congratulated Allen for the victory, which is likely to earn him a spot in the UFC middleweight rankings.
Meanwhile, Belal Muhammad has predicted the 27-year-old to be a future UFC champion.

Brendan Allen was not scared of going to the ground against Andre Muniz
One of the best-kept secrets of the middleweight division, Andre Muniz, had one loss in 18 outings going into his UFC Vegas 70 main-event clash against Brendan Allen. A BJJ black-belt, 'Sergipano' has first-round submission wins over seasoned grapplers like Bartosz Fabinski and Eryk Anders in addition to handing BJJ legend Jacare Souza his first submission loss.
However, that did not deter Brendan Allen from going to the ground against Muniz. With a BJJ balck-belt of his own, 'All In' claimed that his ground game is as good as his rival's if not better. The 27-year-old told MMA Fighting:
“I feel like I’m the worst matchup for him. Obviously, I know he’s good in the positions he’s good at. His jiu-jitsu is solid. He has a couple of tricky moves that he does but overall I think my jiu-jitsu is just as good if not better, especially in this sport."
Brendan Allen named Sean Strickland, Chris Curtis, Jack Hermansson and Dricus Du Plessis as potential opponents after his submission win over Muniz.
