Fans reacted to Championship Rounds' tweet regarding 'The Hangman's' claims and noted that the bout favors the former lightweight champion. They mentioned that they believe Hooker is a more favorable matchup for Oliveira and questioned the matchmaking in terms of what it would do for the Brazilian. They wrote:

What did Dan Hooker say about a potential fight against Charles Oliveira?

Dan Hooker generated plenty of discussion after claiming he could be fighting Charles Oliveira at UFC 305.

While speaking to Main Event, 'The Hangman' took a jibe at 'Do Bronx' and noted that he hasn't received confirmation regarding a potential bout yet. Hooker mentioned that he believes a bout against him would be appealing to fans. He said:

"Nothing official but obviously I'm 100% in, the old [Charles Oliveira]. I think that's a fight the fans would love to see. Let's see if he takes the cake and signs on the dotted line."
