Sean Strickland has embarked on an anti-Islam crusade on X/Twitter, aiming harsh criticism at the religion through various tweets. This has drawn the attention of controversial streamer and Muslim convert Sneako, with whom the UFC 312 headliner once sparred.

According to Strickland, Islamic values aren't compatible with the United States and the western world as a whole. Naturally, his rhetoric has caused great offense among Muslim Americans, with Sneako speaking up in defense of his religion in a clip that is making the rounds on X/Twitter.

"Sean Strickland is talking about how Muslims are not compatible to live in the West. Saying that American values are Christ-like, even though Muslims believe that Jesus is the Messiah. 'We need traditional American values' and then says he's agnostic. But regardless, this big tough UFC champion, 60 pounds heavier, couldn't knock down a revert with no real training experience. Islam just means, 'Submission to God.' And while we're all here, no one breathing's going to be able to stop that."

The two men once had a sparring session defined by Strickland brutalizing Sneako, who covered up but never fell, which seemed to have earned the former middleweight champion's respect. Unfortunately, Strickland is not new to controversy, often spouting inflammatory views.

Not long ago, Strickland embarked on a sexist tirade calling for the removal of women from the American workforce. Moreover, he has repeatedly made negative remarks about the LGBTQ+ community and women's rights, once even characterizing a woman's right to vote as a mistake.

So, it comes as little surprise that he has taken aim at Islam. Though, at one point, his stance was different.

Sean Strickland once abstained from mocking Islam due to a training partner's request

On episode #143 of the JRE MMA Show, Sean Strickland revealed that while he enjoys poking fun at everyone and everything, he had to stop himself from doing so when it came to Islam after Albert Duraev, a training partner of his, had approached him.

"He's like, 'You say things about Islam.' Pretty much saying that, 'I cannot be friends with you because of what you say about Islam.' I mean, I've made fun of Jews, Christians, f***ing Scientologists, I make fun of everybody. So after that, after he caressed my leg, and rubbed my head a little bit, I was like, 'F*** it, dude. I'm gonna lay off Islam.' So, Albert Duraev is why I f***ing give Islam a f***ing pass."

Unfortunately, Strickland's restraint didn't last, and he is now on the offensive, making a complete u-turn from what he told the longtime UFC commentator.
