Boxing superstar Ryan Garcia put forth a tweet, suggesting that the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry fight would be fixed. The combat sports community chimed in, both before and after the fight, with their reactions to 'KingRy's' assertion.

Former UFC welterweight star Perry suffered a sixth-round TKO defeat against YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul in their cruiserweight boxing bout at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on July 20.

While Perry (14-8 MMA, 1-0 Triad Combat, 5-0 bare-knuckle boxing, 0-2 boxing) is the experienced fighter overall, Paul (10-1 boxing) boasted the edge in professional boxing. 'The Problem Child' had a size and reach advantage as well.

Earlier tonight, Garcia took to X and indicated that he'd received information that Paul would lose to Perry in their boxing match. 'KingRy's' post read as follows:

"Jake Paul will lose tonight. Confirmed. Just got word"

Certain sections of the combat sports community have often accused Paul of fixing his boxing matches. Incidentally, Perry previously posted a supposed script of Paul's February 2023 fight against Tommy Fury. While the script hinted at a TKO win for Paul, it was proven wrong because Fury defeated him via split decision.

In response to Garcia's post about the Paul-Perry fight that transpired earlier tonight, some fans seemed genuinely curious as to whether 'KingRy' had indeed seen a purported script of how the fight would play out.

A fan commented:

"You saw the script?"

Another fan echoed similar sentiments and asked:

"So it's staged??"

Meanwhile, MMA journalist Helen Yee questioned Garcia about who he'd received word from. A commenter seemingly applauded Garcia's marketing prowess for attaching himself to the Paul-Perry fight, a hot-button topic.

Moreover, one X user asserted that they lost money by betting based on Garcia's post, whereas another came back to the X thread and lambasted 'KingRy' for the "blatant lie." Multiple netizens responded after the fight and emphasized that the 25-year-old's X post aged badly, given that Paul defeated Perry.

Ryan Garcia has faced several setbacks in 2024

Ryan Garcia missed weight by 3.2 pounds entering his fight against WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney in April. Despite Garcia winning via majority decision, Haney retained the title due to the weight miss.

In May, it was reported that Garcia tested positive for the banned performance-enhancing drug ostarine. It was one of multiple setbacks in what's been a tumultuous year for him.

Garcia attributed the failed drug test to a tainted supplement but was fined $1.1 million and handed a one-year suspension that ends on April 20, 2025. His victory over Haney was overturned to a no-contest. Moreover, 'KingRy' subsequently made disparaging comments about black people and Muslims.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman announced that the WBC suspended Ryan Garcia over the comments and that he'd refused multiple attempts for help during his ongoing struggles with substance abuse and mental health.

Garcia recently acknowledged his struggles and notably apologized to his ex-wife Andrea Celina. 'KingRy' was to check himself into rehab but hasn't yet. While speculation has abounded that he could compete in an exhibition fight under the RIZIN banner in Japan, it isn't confirmed. It's unclear when he'll compete next.
