“Some bangers coming up.”
“There’s a right answer here, I think.”
"Haggerty vs. Lobo was insane.”
“Superlek vs. Takeru best real-life anime fight scene.”
The praise is well-deserved, as 2024 delivered one thrilling bout after another, starting with Superlek Kiatmoo9’s grueling clash against Takeru Segawa at ONE 165 in January.
From the opening bell, the Thai star took control, launching a barrage of low kicks aimed at Segawa’s lead leg. Superlek’s assault was relentless, but Takeru's resilience shone through as he countered with his trademark boxing combinations.
The action intensified in the second round, with ‘The Kicking Machine' continuing to dominate, forcing Takeru to make adjustments. In the third, the Japanese fired back, landing punishing hooks to Superlek’s head and body.
The final two rounds were hard-fought, with both men having their moments. However, Superlek maintained his offensive power until the last bell, and all three judges scored the fight in his favor, granting him a unanimous decision victory and a successful defense of his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title.
Other memorable bouts that earned a spot on the Fight of the Year shortlist included Jonathan Haggerty’s stunning third-round knockout of Felipe Lobo, Anatoly Malykhin’s demolition of Reinier de Ridder for the middleweight MMA crown, Lito Adiwang’s three-round war with Danial Williams and Tawanchai PK Saenchai’s intense rematch against ‘Smokin’ Jo Nattawut.
ONE kicks off 2025 with huge events
As 2025 kicks off, ONE is ready to continue the momentum with two major extravaganzas.
First up is ONE Fight Night 27, broadcasting live in U.S. primetime from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Jan. 10.

In the co-main event, the No. 2-ranked Denice Zamboanga will face the No. 4-ranked Alyona Rassohyna for the ONE interim women’s atomweight MMA world title.
Next, on Jan. 24, ONE 170 will take place at Bangkok’s Impact Arena. That affair’s spotlight will be on Tawanchai PK Saenchai’s much-awaited rematch against Superbon for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship.
Moreover, top-five contenders Nico Carrillo and Nabil Anane will square off for the ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world title.
Finally, ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade will stake his crown against the No. 3-ranked contender Kwon Won Il in a highly anticipated rematch of their June 2022 showdown.
