Alex Pereira and his history with UFC belts
Alex Pereira is the only man to win the UFC middleweight and light heavyweight championships. So, if anyone deserves to rock a bedazzled mini title belt around their wrist, Pereira is that guy. After defeating future Hall of Famer Isreal Adesanya in 2022, the multi-division champion captured his first UFC belt.
After dropping the middleweight title in his rematch with Adesanya, 'Poatan' beat former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz to secure a vacant 205-pound title showdown vs Jiri Prochazka. Alex Pereira made history after finishing the former UFC and Rizin light heavyweight champion in the second round of their UFC 295 main event.
The Sao Paulo native stopped another former UFC light heavyweight champion when he knocked out Jamahal Hill in the opening round of their UFC 300 bout. Pereira then made the second defense of his light heavyweight belt against Jiri Prochazka in a rematch by halting him at UFC 303 in June.
Pereira aims to make the third defense of his belt this Fall. He defends his crown against Khalil Rountree at UFC 307 in October.
