Ahead of their huge fight this Friday, Stamp Fairtex believes she has a clear advantage over Anissa Meksen in one particular area. At ONE Fight Night 6, Stamp will draw from her high-level experience in both striking and MMA to try and defeat Meksen.

Stamp will face one of the best strikers on the planet in the promotion’s second-ever mixed-rules fight, featuring alternating rounds between Muay Thai and MMA.

On January 13, Stamp’s experience as a former world championship challenger in MMA would seem to give her a big advantage over her opponent once the rulesets change in between rounds.

In an interview with Calf Kick Sports, the extremely confident star shared how she believes she will get her hand raised in front of her home fans in Bangkok, Thailand:

“I am absolutely winning this, and I will try the submission in the second round. I’m definitely taking that submission.”

At the press conference for the event, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed that Stamp Fairtex and Anissa Meksen will face off for the ONE interim atomweight kickboxing world championship soon after this initial contest.

Whilst Stamp submitting her opponent would be a huge win, showing that she can compete with Meksen in the rounds of striking will give her a huge confidence boost ahead of their clash for the interim kickboxing gold.

Stamp Fairtex thinks she will either be a trainer in 10 years or a gardener

In the same interview, Stamp Fairtex shared some interesting thoughts on what she believes she will be doing in the year 2033.

The Thai superstar is back in action this Friday night, but when speaking to Calf Kick Sports, suggested that she doesn’t know if she will continue fighting throughout the next decade.

She said:

“In five years I think I’d still be around. Hopefully, I’ll be having three of my titles, and also I’ll be defending the titles. And also in 10 years, I would be 35 so two ways - either I’ll be a trainer in another country, or I’ll just do some gardening and not really be into martial arts.”

Whilst no one knows what Stamp Fairtex will be doing in the coming years, she does have parts of 2022 already mapped out. Kicking off her year in competition on January 13, Stamp will step back inside the circle to make history once again.

Competing in the first-ever women’s mixed-rules superfight under the ONE Championship banner, Stamp will face seven-time world champion Anissa Meksen.

Undefeated since signing with ONE, Meksen has shown little respect for Stamp and her martial arts skills. Once the cage door closes, she will have to answer for her claims that Stamp is more of a "dancer" than a fighter.

Fans in North America can catch the highly-anticipated showdown live and for free on Amazon Prime Video this Friday in U.S. primetime.
