Fan favorite Stamp Fairtex will look to kick off 2023 right when she steps inside the Circle on Jan. 13 for a ONE Championship bout. Emanating from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, ONE on Prime Video 6 will bring fans the first-ever women’s mixed rules bout featuring Stamp Fairtex and Muay Thai specialist Anissa Meksen.

The bout, which will feature alternating rounds contested under Muay Thai and MMA rules, will be the second such contest in the promotion’s history and the first to feature women. ONE’s first mixed-rules matchup took place at the 10th-anniversary spectacular ONE X in March. It was there that current flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson squared off with flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Stamp Fairtex spoke about competing in the history-making match and is eager to start 2023 with a big win:

“The year 2023 would be my ideal year. Of course, I’m going to start the year with a special-rules fight. It will be a great opportunity to write a new page of my own history, to create my own legacy. And it’s a good start to the year.”

Stamp’s last appearance inside the Circle came at ONE on Prime Video 2 in September. She scored a dominant win over Jihin "Shadow Cat" Radzuan via unanimous decision, improving her MMA record to 9-2 overall.

Stamp Fairtex eyeing return to Muay Thai competition

When Stamp Fairtex debuted for ONE Championship, she immediately made history in her first two bouts, capturing the ONE atomweight kickboxing and Muay Thai world championships. Since then, Stamp has turned her focus to mixed martial arts, where she is still gunning to become the first three-sport champion in promotional history.

Despite her focus on MMA in recent years, Stamp has every intention of returning to the art of eight limbs in the near future. Discussing her long-term goals with the promotion, Stamp said:

“Later, I think I’ll find a way back to fight in Muay Thai for fans who miss me. I hope that Chatri [Sityodtong] would allow me to come back to Muay Thai sometime next year.”

In Muay Thai competition, Stamp earned victories over Janet Todd and Alma Juniku before finding herself on the wrong side of a closely contested split decision against still reigning atomweight champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
