Stamp Fairtex shares her message to women looking to start training in Muay Thai or kickboxing

Stamp Fairtex says women should not be afraid to exercise and learn martial arts if it is something they are passionate about.

In an interview with Calf Kick Sports, the Thai fan-favorite suggested that any woman interested in bettering themselves with martial arts, or just exercising, should not feel shy or afraid to do so:

“I want to tell them that working out is not intimidating, it’s not something embarrassing. And it’s good for you that you learn martial arts to basically protect yourself if something happens to you and your loved ones. If you wanna do something, do it.”

Stamp Fairtex is scheduled to make history once again this Friday when she competes against Muay Thai specialist Anissa Meksen in ONE Championship’s first women’s mixed-rules superfight.

Blending the rules of Muay Thai and MMA. Fans got their first glimpse of the unique take on combat sports at the promotion’s 10th-anniversary spectacular ONE X.

It was there that flyweight world champions Demetrious Johnson and Rodtang Jitmuangnon squared off in the critically acclaimed crossover bout. 10 months later, ONE will do it again with Stamp and Meksen leading the charge on January 13 at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.

Does a win over Anissa Meksen get Stamp Fairtex another shot at atomweight queen Angela Lee?

Sitting at the No. 1 ranked atomweight contender, Stamp Fairtex could already argue for a rematch with atomweight queen Angela Lee, but a decisive win over a dangerous striker like Anissa Meksen could make another title opportunity undeniable.

When Demetrious Johnson defeated Rodtang in the first mixed-rules superfight in ONE history, ‘Mighty Mouse’ was immediately given a world title rematch of his own. A precedent has been set.

If Stamp does come out the winner and secure herself a world title rematch, she believes things will be much different than how it went down in their first meeting at ONE X. Stamp Fairtex nearly scored a first-round knockout over Angela Lee, but eventually succumbed to a second-round rear-naked choke.

Having experienced Lee’s style once before, Stamp Fairtex believes she’ll be more than prepared to get a finish the second time around:

“I felt really bad [that I didn’t get the knockout]. I knew she was scared of the body shots, so that’s what I went after. After fighting her the first time, I know that if I fought her again, I can knock her out and I can win. Because I know how she fights now, I’ve experienced it.”
