Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) megastar Dante Leon would not be viewed as one of the best BJJ athletes of his generation if not for his relentless drive to keep refining his game.
In an interview with Jits Magazine, the Pedigo Submission Fighting affiliate shared his keys to success:
"I think I've been really consistent, not just in competition results and in training or work or my career, my personal side of things, but I've been really consistent in being able to adapt. Every so often, there's a new wave of jiu-jitsu. There's a new wave of talent that comes in and the game changes a little bit."

"You see, even from the high-level people, they start to favor different techniques, or they change or evolve their game. And I've done a really good job of staying ahead of the curve a little bit - Noticing trends in the game, staying ahead, staying well-trained, and evolving every couple of terms or couple of trials that that new wave or the technical side of things really changes."

Dante Leon looks back on first encounter with Tommy Langaker
During the 2018 IBJJF Pan-American Championships, Dante Leon suffered a stunning defeat to Tommy Langaker via points, causing him to fall short of advancing to the quarterfinals.
In an interview with ONE, Leon reflected on the loss and how their rematch might play out, saying:
"I attacked him in the match and had several submission [attempts] in that match. So I think, given that we've both matured and grown as athletes, I'm very interested to see how that match would go."
ONE Fight Night 27 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
