ONE bantamweight contender Stephen Loman was just as excited to watch the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 as the fans were.
Loman, however, had other intentions for tuning in. As someone who could be the next world title contender in the division, he has been patiently waiting for his shot at the world championship whilst John Lineke and Fabricio Andrade settled their inconclusive first fight in a rematch.
Once again, the two Brazilians produced an incredible clash for anyone who did tune in on February 24 or for those in attendance at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.
Despite the adjustments that Lineker made, which produced a far more competitive fight this time around, Fabricio Andrade got his arm raised as the new ONE bantamweight world champion after Lineker’s corner stopped the fight before the fifth round.

Following the events of ONE Fight Night 7, Stephen Loman caught up with The MMA Superfan on YouTube to give his thoughts on the main event:
“What a performance, what a great performance from the two fighters. They had an amazing match because both of the fighters wasted no time throwing their punches and kicks and they also absorbed the shots pretty well.”

Fabricio Andrade urges Stephen Loman to challenge him for his newly-won world title
Amongst being overwhelmed with emotion, Fabricio Andrade still had time to call out Stephen Loman from inside the circle at ONE Fight Night 7.
On February 24, Andrade was finally able to put his chapter with John Lineker to rest by defeating the former world title holder to become the new ONE bantamweight world champion.
With another spectacular display of striking from ‘Wonder Boy,’ the fight was closer than their previous meeting, but his precision and speed proved to be the difference once again.
Overcome with emotion after Lineker’s corner stopped the fight ahead of the fifth round, Andrade broke down in tears and dropped to the floor. Commentator Mitch Chilson joined him inside the ring for his post-fight interview, where he gave respect to his opponent and thanked all of his fans for their support.
Already thinking about his first world title defense as the division’s new world champion, Andrade also mentioned Stephen Loman as the man who could potentially challenge him in his first world title defense.
Before stepping out of the ropes inside the ring and leaving the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Andrade had one name in mind that he wanted to get off his chest:
“We already got a contender in line. [Stephen] Loman, you want this? Come and get it.”
