If things go according to Stephen Loman’s way on November 18, the No.5-ranked bantamweight contender will get a ONE world title opportunity. First, he will have to get past one of the most successful fighters in ONE Championship history when he faces former bantamweight titleholder Bibiano ‘The Flash’ Fernandes.
In an interview with The MMA Super Fan, Stephen Loman discussed his goal of competing for ONE gold and believes a win over a legend like ‘The Flash’ will get him into pole position for a shot at the currently vacant bantamweight crown:
“I feel that I deserve to be in a world title fight if I beat Bibiano. But right now, I don’t really know what they’re going to do about the world title. I think there will be a rematch between Andrade and Lineker but I should be up for a spot in the next world title match. Fighting for the belt has always been my goal.”
Coming off of a loss to John Lineker at ONE: Lights Out in March, Fernandes will walk into the Singapore Indoor Stadium at ONE on Prime Video 4 with a renewed determination to be as dangerous as ever. It will be a challenging task for Loman, who will look to keep his undefeated run inside the circle going.

Stephen Loman in the best shape of his career for ONE on Prime Video 4 clash with Bibiano Fernandes
When Stephen Loman steps into the circle against Bibiano Fernandes, ‘The Sniper’ plans to do so in the absolute best shape of his life. Taking nothing for granted, Loman knows the importance of this moment and will be ready to go by the time he steps on the plane heading to Singapore later this month.
"Right now my cardio’s getting better, and my conditioning is also improving. I’ll be working even harder next week so that I will be in peak shape by the last week of my training camp. When we fly to Singapore, the only thing I’ll need to worry about is my diet. I expect to be in the best shape of my career when I fight Bibiano."
A win for Loman will undoubtedly move him up a spot in the stacked bantamweight rankings, though the Team Lakay product may need to exhibit some patience as the promotion continues to work out its current bantamweight world championship vacancy following the controversial no-contest between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 3.
